Aidan Trimble began training in karate at the age of eleven and won his first British title at the age of 17. That same year he was selected for the England squad and was a member of the team that won the European Championships in Germany in 1978. In 1983 Aidan became the first Non-Japanese to win a World Karate Title in Tokyo, Japan at the age of 22.

Following a long and successful competition career, Aidan worked in the security industry but also trained as an actor securing many TV roles, became a prolific author with several titles sold Worldwide, but it is as a teacher that Aidan has excelled becoming an award-winning coach and establishing an International karate association The Federation of Shotokan Karate.

In 2005 Aidan opened The Dojo one of the most prestigious karate centres in the country providing tuition for all ages and abilities. In 2016 the FSK celebrated its 30th anniversary with Aidan being awarded his 8th Dan by the National governing body, the English Karate Federation.
